Help Support CattleToday:

glad to see a new member joining our forum. my kids showed in 4H years ago but we never got as serious as some do now. some members on here are very knowledgeable on showing cattle. @farmerjan would be a good source of information or direct you to some of the best.

Welcome, Taco. You need to go back into your profile and add your ;location. You will get a lot more and better advice from members if you do. Click on " Forums" tab on the left side. Scroll down and you will see a forum called " Show Board". Lots of threads about showing cattle on there. And would be the best one to post questions in.

Oh ok thanks for the info!

Welcome to CT... but I am DEFINITELY, ABSOLUTELY, NOT a source for info on showing cattle. Not my thing and we are not going to get into what I think about some of the showing practices...
I want my cattle in their working clothes... prefer nice working clothes, but definitely not in any frou-frou working clothes.

LOL 😂 I just like whatever's clean and will do the job (AKA slick show steers)

I don't know anything about showing cattle either. It was 1973, I think, the last time I did. But I thin k these days, with British and Continental breeds, they want them to be hairy. @Jeanne - Simme Valley shows some of her cattle, and she wins!

Hi! I will be raising my first show steer I'm super excited so if you have any tip/tricks I'd love to hear them!
Welcome! Can't help you with show cattle but you'll find a lot of helpful folks here. Looking forward to updates on how your steer is doing and how showing goes.
