Hey there! I am new to cattle and somewhat new to raising livestock and just wanted to read/learn more about the topic. About to begin my first steer project so I am trying to collect all of the tips I can before then. Im from Texas and have been raising and showing lambs for a while now. Thanks!

Welcome London. I don't have much experience finishing steers, I mainly get young bulls ready for sale. My only advise would be to never let them go backwards. I'm sure your experience with lambs will keep you out of trouble with the steers.

Welcome aboard London....Steers were going to be my first cattle project too (growing meat)....but I ended up getting a bunch of yearling heifers and before i knew it a bull....and started producing them. You never know what will come your way....be ready to embrace change.
