Hey all, new guy here!
Intro - The farm has operated for decades as a commercial style outfit really only taking animals to the stockyards (and an occasional replacement heifer or show steer). However, as the children have grown, and the industry has grown, there's been a big push toward Genetics based breeding and breeding with the purpose of supplying replacement heifers, herd sires, and show steers state wide. Not in it for the $ as we all have jobs outside of the 600 acres, but we are purpose driven and looking to make an impact on our local populations. We will continue the commercial side, but are beginning to put the animals in place for our replacement program. Our replacement program will be based around the Simmental and SimAngus breeds.
