Recently the Canadian Shorthorn Association joined a growing number of breeds to utilize the new IGS Multi-breed Genetic Evaluations powered by Bolt. I believe that the use of EPD's along with phenotype and structure and of course the ability to just get it done in your environment offers a another great tool. What do others think of the new one step process that updates weekly instead of twice a year and incorporates genomic information at the same time as actual performance data?
Here is a bull we used this year and we are very pleased with his EPD's and his phenotype. He is sired by an Australian bull that is above average in 18 of the 20 traits they track. They are moving to the IGS Bolt One Step system as well.
