DD bought a Beefmaster heifer (Heidi) a couple of weeks ago with her scramble certificate. The heifer was born 9.11.09. She was still on her mother when we picked her up. DD kept her in a stall & pen for about 10 days to get her gentle and to be sure that she was eating well. She turned Heidi out yesterday with the other cows.
She lost a bit being weaned and is a bit wastey through the neck. However she is starting to pick up weight and I think that she will make a commercial cow for our daughter.
I haven't had any experience with Beefmasters. She seems to be pretty sensible and easy to get along with. Our daughter Dot is really enjoying working with her. Thanks for looking.
