New forum display?

I have never understood the big adds in the threads deal. If I do a Google search and it brings up forums I go to the forum. Usually Im just reading as a guest. I'll watch and linger for a time period before deciding to "sign up". Then, I'll participate for a good while before paying to be a member.

When I click the Google link, if I get bombarded by adds amongst the info I am trying to read, as a guest, I leave and never come back.

It seems completey backwards from a marketing standing point. I'm not going to pay for a test drive. It seems like you wouldn't want to harass a guest with adds when you want them to potentially become a paid member.

Seems so. It came in handy for finding different but related threads, especially over a long timeline. (What may have been applicable in 2010 probably won't be in 2025) However, you 'can' still access something like that information IF you are posting a thread title. I saw it earlier today, as a little dropdown box if ya click an arrow at the end of the new thread title..
(may or not still be there now)

That's one of the downsides to adding ads between threads and replies especially large (tall) ones. You have to make room for them by doing away with one or more pre-existing object(s).
That usually limits the # of viewable user posts per page.
Oh, dear. I still have the "similar thread" module that shows threads of all ages. I don't have the one that shows latest posts and comments. I hope y'all go easy on me the first three or nine times I post on a years old thread.

The view preference at the bottom can be any of the 3 symbols depending on which is selected. It may be a gear, a circle half filled, or a moon.

The light is way to bright for me. The dark is better but the font is really small on my phone and I have a big screen.

From the top of the screen, swipe down to find Quick Settings. Tap Font Size. Choose your preferred font size: To increase the font size: Tap Increase

I must be missing something here.
A question or 2 follows.
Are you saying that to get the board to look like it always has, changes should be made in the members browser's settings?
Making changes there, makes changes 'globally', that is, the browser change has a very strong potential to change how every website ya visit looks. If I were to go into settings on my Moto phone and increase font size, display size, contrast etc, it would change those attributes all across my phone's capabilities, and NOT just here at CT.

Why, would anyone want to do that? For that matter, why should anyone NEED to?

That is right. I upped the size to rad it here better and now the forums that are sized properly are huge.

I could have swore there use to be options to adjust the size with in the forum.

I would remind the admin(s) here that although we appreciate hosting this platform to exchange info many of us paying members are here primarily for the knowledge and invaluable experiences of the members like Kenny Thomas, Mark Reynolds, Greybeard, Jeanne, CB and others.

I have always justified my membership by the value many of those people added to our operation.

Okay, am I the only one that doesn't like the very recent: Visit our tractor and agricultural equipment communities at the top of every. single. page.? If I wanted to discuss tractors & ag equipment, I would simply go to trucks, tractors, machinery. This forum is called Cattle Today.
You can click the X if you don't want to see it.
