I have noticed that a lot of the most rude, obnoxious, abrasive, and prolific posters on here are not CT Supporters. There are freeloaders who feel entitled or something every where, though. Got some people like this at one of the venues I purchase talent for. This place only has a cover charge on Saturday night, but they have music Thurs, Friday and Monday night with no cover. You never see these freeloaders on Saturday night, but they want to pile in on the other nights, and they don't even eat or drink. Will flat out say they are just here for the music. They run the waitresses to death toting them water, and will NOT tip them. Nor will they ever put even a dollar in the bands' tip buckets.
Kinda makes you wonder just how valuable the advice or opinions of these CT freeloaders are, when they don't make enough money in the cattle business to be able to afford $20 a year, don't it?

I've been looking for that. My image is now black so not what I normally use. Can't find an option to change it under preferences.

Click on your profile name top right and choose preferences. Look for Style variation. You can then choose between light or dark. I think the dark background is supposed to be easier on the eyes.

New layout, format whether white black background, is hurting my eyeballs. And im "only" 38. I work in tech but this notion everyone is taking that makes all the borders flow into each other, is not user friendly, to say the very least.

Agreed it's hard on my eyes whether white or black background. It's gonna definitely limit my use of the board now.
I've really enjoyed it up to this point, hope it changes back.

Some of us "freeloaders" have been around for quite some time.
You can think and say what you want, but bottom line you don't know what others on here contribute monetarily to or not and neither do I, so I'm not going to be passing any kind of judgment on that.
There's some kind of cause almost everyday maybe multiple per day that ask for a donation/contribution, we simply cannot give to everything. That doesn't mean we don't care about or value that cause, it just means at this time we are not doing that.
At this time we prefer to contribute in and through our local community.

There are a few changes still to be had, but 95% of all the colors currently are the same. Small things like text links being black, and number pages being black - but the background colors are the same. So I don't get your comment really, but you'll do what you must.

Well gee Warren, you're probably talking about me. I like to tip wait staff, but I don't see much reason to tip if someone is shoving advertisements in my face, and I do think I contribute in other ways. People come here for advice and there are people here that have great experience whether they pay for a membership or not. (It's $29 dollars now, I believe.) Aren't the people that know things driving the people to come to the site? I know the newbies aren't here for the advertising. I went to the preference part and selected darker earlier in the day.
Now all of the background is black.
The buttons and heading I guess you'd call them are still the brown color.
Maybe if I go back and change preference again it will be back to the light and darker shades of brown for background?
I edited to add that I thought the ads were no longer showing but they are back again.
At some point a while back I remember there was an option to opt out of ads which I chose to do and as of today the ads are back.

Background is too washed out, and I just do not like the "new and improved"... I find it very tiring, and it is giving me a headache... I tried the black/dark and it was 10 times worse...
Not a fan at all of the "new look"..

Ya know, I don't know why these things (site changes) happen to begin with. My yahoo e-mail changed recently after they asked for several months if anyone liked it, and the new e-mail is harder to use. Then they changed it anyways.
I'm sure it's got something to do with the people working the site, or why would they do it? With this site and a few hundred people, and the few moderators it's probably more understandable. But with yahoo I'll bet they have fifteen guys working for them and half a billion people using it... and for the convenience of the fifteen the half a billion have to go through all the hassle of the changes.
I've never seen a site go back to their old format even when they get a lot of flak.

Guilty as charged Warren. Sounds like you might have a vested interest in the business. I always thought your other stories were from an insider creating a bit of copy to keep interest in the site.

I use adblocker so i dont see any ads. I do like that the background is darker. The only thing I see as an issue is the logo at the top (the cow) is kind of messed up. It looks tilted or stretched out. Overall though i prefer the layout.

Do you have a link to the adblocker you use. This is terrible with ads

There is a setting for Safari on my ipad that i can turn on and off to block ads.

So many ads that the site is next to impossible to navigate. I have been on here for over 20 years. If this is how it is going to be you won't be seeing much of me. If they want to kill this forum this will probably do a good job of it.

I 100% agree. I start to click on something and an ad pops up changing where im clicking. This is not for me at all.
