New format of boards

Help Support CattleToday:

Administrator: I was under the impression that the OLD message format was being discontinued due to problem or change with the host company and/or server. As such, my interpretation was that a NEW format had to be done since the old one was dead. And, since the Message Board is a "service" to all at not cost to the user, I guess the final decision should be with the Administrator. Some issues are appropriate for a democracy; other issues for an autocracy...lol. When you get right down to it, even corporate businesses that "say" there is teamwork, shared decision-making, democratic organization---well, the buck always stops at the top. Someone has to assume responsibility for the final decision and take the praise or punishment in the end.... :)

I for one, hope you go back to the old one.

Wow! You're going from a Model T to a Ferarri. Hold on to your hat and enjoy the speed. Stay warm.

I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you. I'll triple check my configuration files.

Just wondering... Has it warmed up any yet? Did you get the new DSL installed and can you see the new boards now?

I've checked everything dozens of times. You are the third person with the exact same problem. Maybe if I can see what you three have in common it would help me find the error.

Please let me know who and what type internet connection you have. (Earthlink Dial-Up, DirectPC satellite, Verizon DSL, etc.) What operating system your computer uses. (Windows 95, Windows XP, etc.) What browser and version you use. (Explorer 6.0, Netscape4.1, etc.) You can find the last two things by clicking on Help>About when the program is open.

Thanks for your help!

I'm with you! I've had nothing but trouble. Can't view most of the boards.

Macon My internet connection is through our local telephone co-op- its Nemontel.net. We are using Windows XP and Netscape 4.7. The telephone company hasn't got out to hook up the DSL yet. Probably because of the weather. I'll let you know when I get everything hooked up.

It is finally warming up here today- got up to 5 above this afternoon. One night got down to 38 below. Then we had a day and a half of wind and ground blizzard. Been busy trying to dig out haystacks and outbuildings. First snow came in Oct. and hasn't left yet. Have about 16 inches on the level with 8 and 10 foot drifts- makes for too long a winter and too short a haystack.

Snowing again tonight- I'm starting to dream about Tahiti.

That's the way last winter was here. Set a new all time record for snow. But every once in a wehile we'ld get a 40-50 degree day so it would start to melt. The in to the sero degree highs. When it finally warmed up it took forever for it to melt. This year we've had a grand total of 3 inches total scattered over 4-5 days.

You dont have to go that far. Today in South Texas it was a balmy 73 degrees. I was outside watching the kids play on the swings while the dogs chased rabbits in the pasture.

Wonderful winter weather down here. Just a bit hot in July (115) but, hey, I wont freeze and I know how to make margaritas.

We're having our worst weather of the year in Florida. It's getting into the high forties at night. 70's during the day. 115? Wow. It ususally only gets into the 90's at best during the summer here. Margaritas too sweet. Go for a Corona when it's that hot.

I guess I need some help. I can't get the new boards and I can't get your e-mail to work either, so I will have to ask for your help publicly so everyone else can read it also! I use hypernet dial-up, have windows XP, and use explorer 6.0 - what do I need to do next?

Thanks

I have an error in the PHP code that controls the look of the Boards. It affects about 2% or 3% of the people who use the Boards. Not an acceptable number. I've spent a couple of hours looking for the error but haven't spotted it yet. Hope to be able to work on it some more this weekend. If I can't fix it we'll have to try another style.
