Have a couple fields near us planted with something that I would have sworn were weeds, but all in rows and looking good, despite heat and no rain. Did some reading and found Guar bean-heat and drought tolerant legume from India, used a lot in oil and petroleum industry for fracking. Who'd a thunk? Any other strange crops we should be looking at for no-rain areas?
