Good enough commercial stock but he better get some feed in front of that heifer if he wants her bred back on time this year and next year.

That should work. I'll be the first to admit to having some heifers thinner than I like at calving, hard as we try to avoid it.
 
What I find interesting is that your neighbour follows your advice on breeding systems to a T. None of mine do and they all have the same breed as I do. :lol:
 
I take it he must be planning on keeping the calf. It never hurts to help the first calvers along if you don't mind parting with the money. The cow is a little thin, but too fat and they don't milk as well. Nice cow and calf. Looks like mama is doing her job.
