spring calving season is officially up and going - a first calf heifer had a nice 75 lb half-blood bull calf. think i'm going to be really liking calving in april-may. february is too darned cold to calve outdoors, and march is usually a loblolly with all the mud from the winter thaw/spring rains.

thanks for the kind words-

i got a call after i got to work - the momma had another bull calf after i had left home. went back home and gave the second calf a round of colostrum - momma was very interested in both calves and both were up and going very good.
