I got a pleasant call today from a satisfied customer. He is the owner of the Buckshot bull mentioned at the bottom of my posts, and pictured as a calf on the thread involving the "tidy udder" discussion.
He said that the bull looked good, guessed him at 1600-1700#(2 years old May 7) and said that all the calves were unassisted births, including first time heifer. Two thirds were black baldies, one third "brown baldie," two thirds mottled face, one third solid white face. Said the bull was "too smart," sneaks into the forbidden area around the barn where the man has a cabinet shop to graze. Knows how to open gate latches.
The really strange part was that he said his mare came into heat, and the bull was trying to breed her! (How could I have put that more delicately? Sorry.) I have never heard of this before.
