For the newbies, or anyone that is interested, below is the website for the LSU agcenter. You can go on the left side of the page and click on livestock/beef - and there are many informative articles and usefull tools to help the cattleman, most all backed up by tests and real data - not just speculation. I'm sure many universities offer this type of info, but I'm partial to LSU for obvious reasons.

All of the materials that they use to teach the mastercattleman class are posted here as well as tons of studies that they've done. I think that if the average cattleperson would look at these from time to time, they couldn't help but be well informed.
 
This has the makings of being a great sticky. Maybe we can get other people to add links to universities/informative sites so that we could get a good cross section of the country - and then ask Macon to make it a sticky so that we can refer the newbies to it when they need basic help.....
 
Most all of the universitys (and the extensions) have similar websites.
