The bull I purchased, and supposed to take delivery on Thursday came down with a knot on his knee, vet recommended to ship to sale barn. The breeders have given me several options for replacement. What's your thoughts on his #s. It's not a great picture of him but give you an idea on what he looks like20250513_071642.jpeg

This is a great case of LOOKING at the bull before you bother looking at any EPDs. The knot on the knee is doing you a favor.

To be specific. He has a great topline and doesn't appear to have any waste in his brisket. Otherwise he's got no length, no muscle in loin or the rump, and he's feminine. He wouldn't make a very good steer, so I wouldn't expect him to make better than average calves.

I originally bought a different bull from this breeder in November and he was holding him till breeding season, the knot on his knee happened last week. At which point he called a vet and me to update me on the situation. The pictured bull is one of the options he had for a replacement. I ended up going with a different bull. He's younger but definitely has a more masculine head, length, and all around better.
