I am weighing my options on a few AI bulls this summer. I am looking to reduce my cow size from 1600 to 1200-1250 without totally sacrificing my weaning weights. I am looking to keep moderate framed replacements with added thickness. I have been AI'ing to the top "show bulls" for the last ten years or so. My cows have alot of EXT, 3000C, PFRED, 878, Ambush and Focus of ER influence.
I have my eye on a few Ohlde Cattle Company bulls along with a few Conley Angus bulls from Missouri. If anyone has any info on the following sires it would be greatly appreciated. Let me know about any other potential sires that would fit this category. Thanks.

BC MARATHON 7022

OCC LEGEND 616L
OCC ECHELON 857E
OCC EUREKA 865E
OCC HOMER 650H
OCC HUNTER 928H

Don't know whether your purpose is to show or what, but i would add some carcass value to your cattle. Any 1680 influence would help. Looks like you're set on using bulls from those ranches, not familiar with the studs you listed.

badroute- I've seen many Ohlde sired bulls and have been impressed with some of their ability to moderate size and add easy keeping, while still maintaining good weaning weights-- They are becoming the hot item around here... Also seen some of the Diamond D Angus ( Valier Mt.) bulls-- Diamond D has semen available on a lot of their bulls and fantastic records on their cows-- including disposition, udders and weaning weight % to cow ratio.. They have cows weighing 1150-1250 that are weaning off calves weighing 60%+ of the cow weight...

A bull that is known to do a good job of moderate cow size is DHD Traveler 6807-- but semen is very limited and very expensive......
