Need help with weed ID

Can anyone help me id this weed and how to get rid of it?

It looks like a small daisy with a spindly, hairy stem and thin leaves. I have tried 2-4-D and Milestone, but it did not kill it.
I cut it but it comes right back.

Don't know what it is but try metsulfuron or MSMA if you have grass around it that you don't want to kill. If you're not worried about killing surrounding grass use paraquat.

Can't tell exactly but it looks like Hairy Astor or Annual Fleabane. http://www.kswildflower.org/white.php this link is for Kansas wildflowers, listed by color. Did you have your chemical mixed strong enough?

I had the chemical mixed for a hand sprayer and it kills thistles and cockleburs good.

Flowers slightly smaller than a Dime US coin?

Weed grows primarily in the late summer to fall.....like now, but not noticeable other times of the year?

Single main root that is similar to a carrot in that it's thick and deep penetrating?

Off shoots from the main root are like a tree's canopy and very stemmy/wiry/hard?

If you answer yes to these questions, I have been trying to ID the weed too.

Texasmark yes to allquestions and if you don't cut it it comes back from the root larger the nexr year.
It also grows very fast.

It's in the aster family for sure....

:shock: and you can buy them at most garden centers. :lol:
