I'm a newbie and I don't have a diagnosis for this one - out changing pasture openings this morning -
one cow has very pink and irritated eyes -
all around both eyes was quite pink and the white of the eye itself was pink -
there didn't appear to be any swelling just very irritated -
could she just be poking herself in the eye eating from the round bales as someone else said - or is it some nasty disease that I need to get stopped -

thanks a bunch - you guys have taught me soooo much :D :D

have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year
:santa: :santa: :santa:

It could be many things. IBR, pink eye, or just irratated. If the animal has pink eye then you will usually see a blue spot in the center of the eye. IBR the animal with be walking with its head down. Does it act sick? If it has symptoms of IBR then you need to watch for secondary infections. Without more to do on, I don't really know what to say.
