Need an opinion on some feed!

A guy that feeds a lot of cattle close to me is now selling the ration he feeds. It's rice bran, hominy and ddg. 16% protein, 9% fat. $6/50lb or $200 for 1800. I'll be feeding it to the calves I'm weaning and think I'll add corn on down the road as they get closer to finished. Any thoughts?

That sounds like a pretty good deal. The price is about what we are paying from a local feed mill. Ours has more minerals and trace elements and we really like the results from using it so far.

Cattle should do great on it. No need to add corn. Just feed it as is.

i would just feed whole corn with minerals on the side

Jerry I've seen that done with Holstein steers on wheat which is much higher in protein.
