Ok here is our delima. We have a heifer that came in heat on May 9th, before we could get her AI'd the bull jumped the fence and serviced her, on May 14th she got a shot of lute to abort. On May 31st she had a cidr put in and another shot of lute on June 6th when the cidr was pulled. She didn't show any real signs of heat after that. She should be coming in this wk. My question is when do you give the lute shot, the day before the cidr is pulled or when you pull it? I have only read 1 article that said you can give it the day you remove cidr, everything else says "must give lute 24 horus before removing cidr" We are very new at AI, my cousin handles our AI heifers, I don't want to step on his toes by asking him. Does this make any sense? :?:
Please advise!

We've always given the shot the day before we removed the CIDR but this year we are trying to do it the same day. Our AI tech recommended the same day protocol.
Good luck!
