Yeah, well--4-5' running on top of the ground is a bit much. I still have green growing bahia--just not enough moisture on top to germinate seeds. Does look like the bottom is about to fall out right now tho.
Plenty of moisture in the ground here as well just need a shower on the seed.
Town ants have toted off a pile of it.
Looks like tomorrow for us at 80%

Weekend before last, I planted my brother's deer plots. The areas that are in the shade are coming on strong-3-4" tall-Ladino clover, oats, ryegrass, and Aus peas--some kind of turnip too. Everywhere out in the sun is still just bare baked ground.
I hope you're right about that 80% CB. We were at 40% today--not a drop.

I usually don't get stuff planted till after Thanksgiving but have had about the same results planting in late december. ONE year I didn't plant until the first week of January and it did ok.

Whoo Hoo!! Rain gage sys 2 1/4" fell last night. My ryegrass and oat seeds have been out for nearly 2 weeks--hope enough of it stayed viable to get some up. More rain forecast for today--still need some more.
