Nice bull Jovid. What is he?

Thanks

OC Osage Red Boy and a Lazy S cow. The cow is the dam of the bull I sold last year at the National sale.

He and his momma are pictured on the spring 2009 Journal

I have a list of the sale cattle If anyone is interested please send me a PM

I have the Sale Catalog on a PDF file if you want to PM me your email I will send it to you

What can you tell me about "Dunroamin Century "21"? I see where several of the lots are linebred/inbred to this bull. as well has a MARC cow on one of the heifers.

I don't know much about that bull. I believe he was bred by a breeder in Indiana. All the MARC cows go back to the herd that the USDA Meats Animal Research Center in Clay Center NB did research on for several years.

WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO BUY A BULL WITH THAT HIGH A BIRTHWEIGHT THAT DOES NOT LIVE IN CANADA? I EXPECT TO SEE BETTER WEANING WEIGHT ON EM TO. I have commercial cows that do better than that. No offense!

◆ EPDs: BW 3.2 (P+); WW 9 (P+); MM 4 (P); M&G 8; YW 11 (P)
◆ Birth wt. 95 lb./ratio 104. Wn. wt. 523 lb./ratio 100. Yrlg wt. 985 lb.
◆ If you are looking for your next herdsire, let us introduce you to
Shuter's Renegade. We have been anxious to share the results
of our Lazy S Aztec son on our Tuff Enuff daughters and
Renegade is a prime example of why. His first calf momma
traces to our Highland Lassie line where longevity is the norm.
Renegade's great granddam is still in the herd at 15 years of
age, and his granddam was a top choice of many people that
have visited the farm over the past few years.
◆ Renegade is a long bodied, eye appealing, stout featured bullwith
plenty of muscle, as evidenced by his 1.26 sq. in. of
REA/100 lb. measured via ultrasound prior to one year of age.
Although he and his first calf mother were with a group of cows
that ran out of pasture before I got them weaned, he made up
for it and was gaining 4 lb./day during one period following
weaning.

Bull
◆ Don't miss the fact that he is 15/16 Red Poll and registered as a
purebred, the first registerable result of our breeding up program
using Chiangus to add muscle. Renegade was recently named
Reserve Champion in the Junior Division at the Indiana State
Fair and we have entered him in the National Show at Louisville
as well.We always try to support the National Sale with a top
quality herdsire and Renegade may very well be our most complete
prospect offered to date.
◆ IBR, PI3, BVD, BRSV, 7-way Clostridial, dewormed.

That is funny. That is what I call NON Growth. Just look at that weaning weight. I got commercial cows that do better than that. No offense!

S&W we all can't raise those mythical cattle that your raise. Some of us really do have cattle unlike you that can only dream about them.

How did the sale go Jovid? I mean overall. Did the JF Blockbuster heifer calf sell? Mr. Jackson bred 3 heifers to him before I got him but I think he sold the other 2 at a sale in KY.

I guess they all think JF Blockbuster fell off the face of the earth...... nope.... we have a super nice bull calf out of him and 6 heifers (out of the reg. gals) and 3 to calve in the next couple of months. It's always exciting to see other red polls though. I just enjoy the breed itself.

The sale went really well. :D :D :D

The average per head was $1450 and we only sold one open heifer for $950. All the rest sold for $1,000 and up. In today's times I thought that was pretty good. We had 17 different buyers.
