I am a firm advocate for the tribes but my experience with their efficiency and fiscal affairs tells me they will want twice as much money to manage the NBR than it was costing US Fish and Wildlife.
Nevertheless, it is the appropriate decision. The range is on the reservation. It is the best place in the US to see what is almost 100 % genetically Bison bison.
The bison we stocked on the Rocky Mountain Arsenal near Denver, were brought down from NBR. The ones brought down all had to test 100 % Bison bison.
