Results from National Beef 2008.
Held at Bendigo Victoria recently.
Interbreed Results.
Group of Three.
Red Angus,runner up Angus.
Junior Female. Red Angus Reserve,Angus.
Junior Bull. Welsh Black Reserve,Shorthorn.
Senior female. Limousin Reserve,Angus.
Senior Bull. Poll Hereford Reserve,Shorthorn.
Supreme Exhibit. Waterford First Class a black Limousin by the US sire Chaz First Choice. Reserve was the the Poll Hereford Bull Kanimbla Showman.
Reports in the rural media said that the supreme was a faultless female with a magnificent calf at foot.
700 head were shown at this emerging event,33 breeds represented.Ths event is set to takeover as the major show in Victoria,similar to The Beef spectacular in NSW will eventually be the major show in New South Wales, as is the Beef Expos in Rockhampton for the state of Queensland. The eastern states are the major cattle states in Australia. The cost of exhibiting at the major city shows and the length of time away from home have helped these beef shows grow.
