I've been hearing several different names mention to identify cattle, like, springer, replacement and commerical. Can someone explain this to me. Thanks

springer: cow/heifer showing signs of nearing calving (udder has milk, vulva enlarged) replacement: heifers who will be retained to use in the cow herd; replacement is used because theoretically they would be replacing any older cows that are being culled due to old age, poor quality, etc commercial: any cow herd that is not being used to produce seedstock (breeding stock). hope this helps.
