Here are a couple of pics of our mule baby "Alice"
Mom is 98% foundation qh mare, she's really little but all of her foals - mules and horses are always 15h or better.

Her sire is a black mammoth Jack named Julius - he's about 14.2h with very "horsey" confirmation. This little mare always throws very big foals - I have a 3 yr old horse foal out of her by a stallion that was about 15h - and he's already almost 15.1 and my husband rides a 5yr old bay molly mule by the same jack out of this mare that stands a little better than 15h - this mare is barely 14h tall, I think she may have been sick or something as a baby and never reached her "genetic" size? Who knows - she's 20 yrs old this spring and still going strong - She's just always been a ranch horse, very cowy - she'll do anything you ask her and very sweet gentle disposition - that's why she has mule foals! you don't want any hint of bad disposition in a mare that's having a mule!
