Three of us ran 130 head of cattle through the squeeze today, and gave them the works including banding 31 little bulls.
Now my tired hurts maybe I'm just getting too old for this.

know the feeling....I'm fighting a case of the croopy-crud. I feel like I've run a 130 head of cows through the chute today too.

We're branding Sat. Right at 160 head. There will be at least 5 of us tho and using a table.

I ran thru 140 on Saturday. I let some of the bull calves get too big before banding and that makes for a long day with the cheereo bander. Even my hair is sore.

I still haven't recovered from the sale Sat.
The three hour drive one way is bad enough and several hour's there.
Pulling a cattle trailer through Houston you need your head on a swivel.
Never again I will go the long way, I am not paying the stupid tax again.
I will just add 30 minutes each way.
My back and neck feel like I have been run over.

What sale did you go to? If you think that Houston traffic is bad on Saturday, you should pull a trailer during the week. I read a book when my husband drives because the other drivers scare me so bad when they cut in front so closely or when they don't notice that we have a 34 foot white trailer and start moving over into the trailer.

Yes they are. We were there from Monday through Thursday with the mobile dairy classroom. Luckily we do not have to go through Houston to get there.
Did you bring anything home?

Yes mam I posted the picture on the sale board.
I bought a heifer from an 8 or 9 yr old little girl in the 4H.
Paid way to much for her to boot but I love to buy from those kid's.

Dang CB, I thought I was the only old softie, when it comes to kids, on here.

Well Dang,

I didn't realize what a weenie I am until I read this thread. I have 45 head of black Angus cattle and it is ALL I can do to run them through the chute for vaccinations and deworming. I'd just quit if I had to do that to 100+ cows.

Congratulations on your achievements. I envy your endurance.

Very cool CB.
I wish that we had the spare money to buy projects, but we don't. I do what I can by volunteering my time in the 4-H program and at the fair.

Well today is the day after. I ain't much tired but I think every bone and muscle in my old body aches plus cool and damp today and ol author is helping the aches. Like ISO said even my hair hurts.
Sometimes these golden years aint gold.
