Best roast beef sandwich I had in all my born days was at the Hotel Del Rio right on the river. That was a long time ago and I don't know if it is still there. I ususally don't even notice how food taste, but this sandwich was worth noticing.Txwalt":3vbqsspr said:San Antonio. They have the Alamo and river walk.

A good neighbor raises vegetable and sells locally to indivduals. New man (outsider from city) moved into the area, and in time sent word to neighbor that he would like to buy some of his produce.alacattleman":2gmyke0n said:.... we got areas here where no one would be welcomed 25-30 years ago..even folks from a town or two over would be looked at with a evil eye... the place i was raised you knew when you gone too far by the waves... when folks stopped waving time too turn around.. in fact a friend and me got escorted out one time by a ford pushing us outJogeephus":2gmyke0n said:On a side note I just thought I'd mention that where ever you go you are probably going to be welcomed with open arms if you have that australian accent. That's the way yankees think.chrisy":26e530lw said:I really enjoyed my stay in Louisiana, and trip to New Orleans and Natchez from there. Met lots of lovely people and when they found out we were from England they made us even more welcome, strange in Florida as most people asked if we were from Australia, think it is our London accent thought we should be speaking the Queen's English to be from London. Hope you have a lovely trip and enjoy it all, would like to see photos when you get back. I'm envious as I would love to go back but Hubby doesn't. Although there are a few people he would like to see again.
What are you saying? :lol2: That's crazy. :lol2:brandonm_13":2tqbcsgi said:Well from my house, I"m 5 hours away from the Smokey mountains. I like Pigeon Forge better than Gatlinburg. It's just too crowded. There is an aquarium in Gatlinburg and past it, there are the mountains and Cades Cove. 7 hours south of my house is the ocean, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Pensacola. 3 hours northwest of my house is Reelfoot lake. An hour west is the Shiloh battlefield. About a mile from my house is the Natchez trace. It runs two hours north to Nashville, and about 8-9 hours south all the way to Natchez Mississippi.
