So, I know we are not giving IM injections in the hip of beef cattle. My question is exactly what type of damage does it cause and is it permenant? For example I have a steer calf that was given IM injections in the hip at 3mos old. Does that damage to the muscle ever repair itself? Considering he won't be slaughtered for quite some time.
Just wondering if he is worth feeding out or not..

Thanks for your opinions.

There will be a blemish in the muscle that will have to be cut out. It will always be there, according to what was injected being the deciding factor on severity.

Your butcher will see it for sure and remove it, especially if you warn him.
