Mrs Stewart's Bluing?

Anybody using Mrs. Stewart's Bluing in their water troughs to reduce algae growth? If so, how much do you add for a 1200 gallon trough? How well does it work?
We used RIT blue jean dye when I was a young man and into the 90's to control algae in horse troughs.

Yes sir. They last along time though and work pretty good since they realease a little all the time. Plus, it makes me nervous having the liquid jugs rolling around in my back seat. 😄
I have a little yellow plastic duck floating around in my swimming pool that holds 3 of them. Three will last about 3 weeks....maybe

Them Brimmers would chit if there was a little yellow duck floating around in the water troughs. They would like those zebras drinking around them crocs... one eye on the water... one eye on the duck... and ready to run at any moment. 😄

For my Jr High science class we use to use Mrs Stewarts bluing to grow salt crystals. Got hard to find it in stores . I haven't seen it in years ! I know show cattle folks that used it to whiten their cattle with white on them . It's doesn't turn the white hair blue but bright white . Also heard little old white haired ladies washed their hair in it ?
