Do you dehorn your Herefords or tip their horns? We dehorn our horned calves at branding. Our stud calves are treated differently they are dehorned within a month or two with a hot iron. They look like polled animals. This has worked wonders with our Brahmans, because they are later in developing horns. often at branding they have little or nothing to grab hold to. Time gets away then you have a big job.

Actually, the dehorned one is a steer. What happened was I usually dehorn the fall calves in Feb.

Well in Feb my father passed away and I had to take care of bussiness in Mississippi and Had been away.
They will get tipped later this fall. I only have a hand full that are not dehorned. These just didnt get it done because of all that was going on.

What are their feet like? they look a bit long toed in the pictures.

The one was a 4-H heifer and does have long toes. We must of had the ration a little hot for her but the others I dont think are.
