Bull semen for silkier hair
By John Maday | Saturday, June 27, 2009

Want soft, thick, lustrous hair? The answer might be that herd bull with a lot of spare time after breeding season. Hair styling Web site Curl Stylist reports that bull semen has become the most talked-about hair treatment in London. Touted as "Viagra for Hair," this 45-minute treatment ranges from $90-$138 and uses semen from – take note Angus breeders – Aberdeen Angus bulls.

Hari's, one of London's top salons, reportedly combines the semen with the root of the protein-rich plant Katera. Stylists massage the protein-enriched potion into the client's hair after it has been shampooed. Then the client is put under heat so the treatment penetrates the hair. "The final step is the blow out, which gives the hair an awful lot of body, as well as shine," the article states. Hari's owner, Hari Salem is quoted in the article saying "I have been searching for an organic product with a lot of protein because that is what hair is made of and that is what it lacks when it is dry. The semen is refrigerated before use and doesn't smell. It leaves your hair looking wonderfully soft and thick."

I wonder how the Shorthorn stuff would do? We have several breeders whose number one trait consideration is long luxuriant hair!

ive seen alot of bull's who's semen would be better suited, outside the breeding realm.

The CAB people have to be behind this. I guess the hereford treatment only costs $20, and the longhorn is probably only $5 :lol2: I wonder how many potential 800 lb. 205 day ww calves are wasted on someone's hair?

I think they are touting the angus because that is the only breed with enough numbers to meet the demand!

I guess that's one way Angus breeders could get their money back out of semen they have on carrier bulls. Someone needs to open a hair salon in New York City and start doing this hair treatment. They could name the salon Precision 1680 hair salon. :D

Here is a recent thread that was on the same track:

I'm thinking our Highlands are better than any Angus for this treatment. Just have to put this picture on the bottle and it will fly off the shelves at say a couple hundred a bottle.

So then if Angus semen makes hair silkier- Galloway or Highlander should work great for bald folks- and Limi could be used for frizzy hairdoos- and Saler for the spike look... ;-)

Fine by me. I'm not an Angus hater' I'm a cow lover... Every time the Angus machine does something good, it translates into good for me. When I tell people that my calves are roughly 50% Angus, they all understand. If I said that I had some beefmaster cows, they would look at me funny.

I hear that you could get a good deal on semen from the sire of this cow:

I have found another thing I can thank the lord for tonight.... I thank him because I am bald! And I promise that I will never ever pray for hair again! :dunce:
