Moisture meters

Anyone have a moisture meter on your baler ? Son came across an ad for a meter that mounts in your baler ; square or round; and registers your moisture level for each bale , think even inner to outer layer . Around $350 if I remember correctly.

I have an Agritronix BHT-2 in the round baler. Its nice to have it gives you a general idea what the hay is doing. You have to take the readings with a grain of salt as it will jump around a bit. Helpful to tell me when to quit in the evening as the slightest dew will make it jump off the charts.

The guy that does my hay has one on his baler. Well worth it. I had some last year that was running about 18% with rain on the way. Those rolls got stored outside.

Thanks for the input ! We bale rye grass this time of year and lost around 100 rolls last year . Went through a heat and look like they had almost caught fire before we saw them . Luckily we had plenty for last winter.
