In the article on feeding bottle calves it mentions using real milk and not a soy product. Where can you order / buy real milk replacer ? Coachg34

At any good livestock feed retailer... read the label or ask their feed specialist.
Hint, if they don't have a livestock feed specialist they are usually not a good retailer for your feed needs.

I have read all the labels at Tractor Supply and my usual feed dealer, all soy based. Is there a key word I need to look for ? Is whey a real milk replacer ?

Yes, whey is a milk based product, left over from cheese making. Most all "real Milk" milk replacers have whey as part of the mix. Tractor supply does carry an "all milk" , milk replacer, but I cannot off hand remember which bag color it is. I buy from a regular feed store/mill.
Land-o-lakes, Purina, and other brands make All Milk, milk replacer. They will all have whey in them, but NO SOY.
I believe that the TSC brand is DuMoor (sp?) ULTRA ALL MILK Milk replacer. You might have to ask for it specifically. I prefer Land-O-Lakes, or get the local brand our feed mill carries.

Tractor Supply sells Suckle Pro. Excellent product with Whey protein. Also includes ImmuOligo. And Prebiotic. Here is part of a bag I have here at the house. I got it back in the early fall to supplement a calf when her dam had not come into all her milk as fast as she should have.

Thanks all ! I guess I was looking for something worded a little different ! I have seen all these but was unsure if they were All milk and not soy. Finally got the little man to actually suck the bottle tonight. Said the last time I did this , never again, but I'm too tender hearted not to try to the best by this calf that I can ! coachg

Correction: Suckle Plus+ by MannaPro NOT Suckle Pro. Btw: Tractor Supply does stock other brands. I have perused all the labels. Suckle Plus+ gave me the best impression.

Interesting that they put "goat kid" on that bag....they would starve on that stuff!

EZ, it doesn't work that way. In this case, the crude fat content is far too low for goat kids. They would not be able to consume enough to get the nutrition they need to survive.

Well that eliminated 99% of your retail feed stores.
