milk cow vs. bottle bummer calves

We get all the bummer calves from a local rancher and raise them we have been just turning them out on our very gentle jersey cow. we have too many for just the one cow so we have started to bottle feed and we aren't too impressed with the bottle results as compared to the calves off the cow. anyone else had experience with this if so are you having the same problem as us?
 
Bottle calves never grow as well as calves on a cow. I guess your just basically keeping them alive until they get on feed and grass.

x2. You can finish out a nice feeder from a bottle calf, just takes more time and grain. :cry2:
