Mildew in hay a problem?

We've had a lot of rain here in N. Central Texas this Spring. I bought "coastal" hay recently from a guy who is supposed to know what he's doing so I bought it right out of the field right behind the baler. Got it home, started feeding it and after a few days noticed it had a lot of mildew smoking from it when tossed around. I've never had this problem with hay, ever. Is this safe to feed my cows and bull or should I ask for a refund?

are you sure its not just dust ?? does it have a color??

Positive for mildew, as in powdery mildew.

That's kinda' what I thought. I'm gonna have to watch my hay farmer's a little closer in the future. Normally, in Texas, we don't deal with mildew in hay, just lots of dust. HAHAHA. Thanks very much!
