The state recently did away with the death penalty so the killer will have to be housed and fed for the next 40-50 years that will add up to several million.

Illinois is considering reinstating the death penalty for persons found guilty of killing law enforcement officers including DCFS agents after the recent murder of a DCFS officer with her own gun.

His mother is saying it was a mental health problem the family was prevented from getting him help for. They knew he had problems but weren't allowed to do anything.

She is emphatically saying it's not a gun issue. It's a mental health issue.
