I posted the thread a few weeks ago in the Show forum but I know most of you don't go in there. So I thought I would post it in here. My uni raises and exhibits cattle in a hoof and hook competition which obviously has 2 parts. Judging on hoof and then the animal is auctioned off and judged as a carcass. The heifer myself and a couple of other girls were working on won Grand Champion Lightweight and later sold for $3600 or AUD$9/kg (she weighed 391kg). She didn't place on the hook however. Another steer won the carcass with the highest points, but was docked because the carcass was 15kg over limit. He was a Belgian Blue cross and he dressed out at 68%. So here's some photos.
This is the heifer we exhibited a few weeks before show. They spent in total 100 days in the feedlot.
And show day photos
This was the champion led steer overall, also exhibited by the university
