what can you do to keep your pond clear? I have had run off from my barn into the pond.The water is real dirty looking.I also have fish in the pond, so don`t want to kill them thanks for any information

Several things can be done. Some ecologically based solutions use a "canal" into a pond with the canal being planted with special plants that help clarify the water. Also, by using either a liquid or granular algaecide or one of the Blue Dye Colorants, this will significantly reduce the algae. There are also algae eating fish. Check with your extension service or State Dept of Agriculture for more info. Also, search the Web for "algaecides", and related key words. Good luck!
