I have a heifer calve May 10th and we didn't want to breed her on the 10 day heat. She was in heat on Sunday. How long do I have to wait to give her a shot of lutalyse so that she can get bred with the rest of the herd?

You need to wait at least seven days after she last cycled before Lutalyse will "short cycle her". She should come into heat 2-4 days after the jab!

Are you saying she had a "standing Heat" 10 days after calving? That was EXTREMELY quick, if the calf lived & is sucking. You made a good choice not to breed her on that heat.

Yes, she was in standing heat. I will try to give her a sot this weekend at 10 days. She has a very healthy heifer.

I take it she got all her escapees back. Oh wait that was vtmaple girl or something. Dang im getting old. I never did see vt post anymore after her animals escaped. They are probably coyote bait by now.
