lump jaw

I have a cow with lumpy jaw. The vet said it would be o k to butcher. Has anyone butchered cattle with lumpy jaw. Hate to waste the meat. Does that infection effect the meat at all. Thanks Dan

Checked with local meat processer about the lumpy jaw cow. He said it was quite common and had no problem with processing it. Just don't wait to long ,the cow will start to lose weight as the lump expands.

If it's a soft lump the cow will most likely recover and be fine.
