Low Input Nutrient Cycling on Improved Pasture?

Help Support CattleToday:

You can make more with a lower stocking rate - - if you have been spending too much to maximize productivity, and/or you get caught in a declining market that no longer can justify the purchased inputs. I can (if it rains) run a pair on 1 to 1.5 acres, but a high input stocker type system does not make sense with sub $2 calves. One of Buds sayings was that a good (grass farmer) decision works in high or low markets.
