Ok here is the bull I´ve got: AAA 18331726

So here is the question. I am breeding him to cows that have for generations have been bred to bulls with maternal traits. Do you guys see a problem if I retained some of the heifers from this bull and bred them back to a higher calf ease bull with maternal traits?

Thanks for input

Just curious... what are the 'maternal traits' that your previous bulls have brought into the equation? And how is this bull's potential contribution different?

I wouldn't necessarily shy away from this bull or his daughters... though they may take more feed to maintain than most... if you buy into the validity of the $EN index (only 5% of the breed is worse/lower).

I would do genetic testing which would boost the accuracy of his EPD's. Then you would have a better idea of what you will have with his daughters. His marbling is way above breed average. Seems like you could A.I. his daughters to any of the Connealy bulls or SAV bulls. Any photos?
