Thought you folks might like to see the new bull we got last week in Virginia. He's straight Butler-this line is known for producing horns and many times are one of the smaller Longhorn types. I think this boy has good frame and size. What do ya'll think?

wow thats some bull. nice set of horns . nice long straight body. well colored should throw some nice calves . scott

Looks good. I LOVE those High horns (i'd rather have those than straight out Everyday of the week). Looks like he might throw some good twisty horns on his calves. Has good depth and some thickness to him. What I really like is how he express his muscle all the way down his back leg. Looks like a good one.

He looks familiar, would I have seen him before? Maybe in the Trails?

I just want to know how you guys get these things in a squeeze chute? I have a 30 inch horned Hereford cow and she don't like to twist her head to get in the squeeze. I always wondered how you guys worked these things for shots and such.

OBTW, I have a set of dehorners that will work on him.

You may have seen him in there last year. I bought him from a friend up in Blackstone,Virginia. He ran an ad with him in there I think. I have his ad coming out in the Trails next month. Thanks for the complements.

We just corner them in the corral with a panel and squeeze them up that way. They also make Longhorn squeeze chutes. I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure those dehorners wouldn't work on him. :D

Well if you want to borrow them I will get a picture of them for you. They have about 40 inch handles and will take about a 3 1/2 inch horn. If that won't work I can loan you my chainsaw.

flaboy,
what's up-don't you like his horns? :D

Oh no, I love horns. As long as they are on someone elses cows.

Let's just say I had a bad experience with them once.

I doubt if his horns will grow any more-actually he's 13 years old but i think I can still get 4 or 5 more years of breeding out of him. His offspring that I've seen have alot of horn and alot of them have the horns going out laterally. I've got some big horned cows that I expect good things from with him.
