Robert this is knowen as a hybrid bred beefalo beefalo is is a 3/8 buffalo 5/8 bovine of any breed. To go higher is a hybrid animal or to go below 17.5% is a hybrid bovine this is an actual breed of cattle. there really good animals to have arround. They offer alot to the breeder.I don't know if I would use that cross but it would be interesting. This is a bison hybrid-a true beefalo is 3/8 bison and 5/8 bovine (any breed of cattle). I don't know if these are really considered rare but they aren't very common. I bet it's a unique looking animal-I'm sure it will be a tough one, utilizing the hardiness of both the Longhorn and the Bison.
