Longhorn breeding age

Yes. We breed them to calve at roughly 2. Have even had them calve at ~22 months as to prevent giving birth in months with extreme weather (mostly heat).
 
We put our first calf heifers in with a young bull at about 14 months. The bull is between 14 months and about 2 yrs old, so he isn't too large for the heifer. After she has had her first calf, then she is put with one of our mature herd sires.
