Just thought I would see if anyone has an idea what a Long 2450 tractor is worth. It is about a 1997. It has only been used to feed about 35 round bales of hay each year and some very light brush hogging. Has less than 200 actual hours on it. Tires are like new, always shedded, looks almost new. I know the company went bankrupt, so that hurts, but not sure how much. It is 2 wheel drive and it is gas, I believe. It belongs to my Uncle and he is getting ready to sell it, but we have not idea what a tractor like that is bringing. Thanks

I had no idea there were gas burning tractors being built as recent as that. Probably not worth much and probably will take a pretty un discriminating buyer.

Thanks, guys. My Uncle's health is not good and he wants to sell it. I don't have any interest in buying it, but I had no idea how to help him price it. This helps alot. Thanks again

Searching around the best I could find was 3500-4000
I looked on tractor data. they dont show that size.just a 2060 and its diesel
I found an some old 2460's locally and went by that. I would think you could contact your local tractor dealer and have him check the bluebook

i see i put 2060.. meant 2460

I stand corrected. After reading your posts about the tractor size, even though my Uncle kept telling me it is a 2450, I finally drove down and looked at the tractor. It is a 2460 and it is gas. It looks new, it has 400 actual hours on it. Sorry for giving the wrong size in my initial post, but sounds like you guys figured it out, anyway to get the price value estimate. Thanks, again

A friend of mine was a Long dealer and told me there was never a 2450 and that it was probably a 2460. The only problem is that the 2460 was a diesel 3 cyl. But with Longs and Farmtrac it's hard to tell what odd ball variations there may have been. A little history from Tractordata.com:
Long Manufacturing built its first tractor in 1948. The company, however, soon stopped building their own and began importing tractors from Uzina Tractorul Brasov (UTB) and some Landinis. Long filed for bankruptcy in 1985, but returned by 1987 after a reorganization. In 1998, Long Agribusiness was purchased by the Escort Group of India. The Long name was dropped in favor of the Farmtrac brand. Farmtrac North America stopped business in late 2008.

Got a LONG good luck getting much out of it, parts are non existent and best you can do is trade it off to get more for it-we are in the same boat with are 4wd 2510 Long, but as it is we can't afford to get another tractor so we are stuck with it.

UPDATE: After my Uncle passed away, my Aunt finally got around to wanting to try to sell the tractor. I was also wrong about something else, it was a diesel. So, 2460 diesel, with no front end loader and 2 wheel drive, 1997 and 400 hours. She priced it at 5500 and first guy that came and looked at it offered 5200, so she said sell it, and we did. I was very surprised, but the guy was buying it to fix it up some and resell it. I would not have thought it had any more possible value after the 5200. Thanks for your input, I know it has been quite awhile since I first posted about it.

Sounds like a your aunt got a fair shake, glad the guy didn't lowball. We have a couple old tractors that are impossible to find parts for.
