This message was forwarded to me by a "friend of a
friend", and the author is a retired Marine Corps
Colonel and attorney. It makes MORE SENSE THAN
ANYTHING ELSE I'VE READ about the current WORLD
conflict in which we find ourself. As you'll see,
it's not cheap political propaganda of the type so
commonly seen.

"Life ain't about how fast you run, or how high you climb, but how well you bounce."

That was outstanding!!!
Why isn't this kind of stuff in the newspapers and on t.v. ???
I don't know if ya'll are aware of this ,,, But we ( U.S.A.) had concentration camps, There was one in Kenedy , Texas. It was for Japanese Americans, We didn't gas them or kill them , But we did hold them, Contain them.
The reason we did it was , because we were at war with Japan . And we did not know who or where these people's loyalties were.Bottom line was we didn't trust them!!!
I've got no problem with racial profiling.

I have no problem with racial profiling....it happens to all of us everyday no matter what race, creed, disability, or religion. We do need to pose more racial profiling against Muslims in America for the sake of national security. Slightly off topic but related, recently an newly formed (they weren' there before Saddam were captured!) radical Iraqi terrorist group captured an American soldier....turns out he was an Lebanese-born aka so called American Muslim. He had purposely let himself get captured by these radical group by going AWOL. They had released him today only because he promised he would not join our armed forces again and join their radicalism.. Seems like the sole purpose to join the military so he can commit treason on us! His family were all gooey and such stating he loves America, blah blah blah..... We need to do some racial profiling on aaaaaaaaalllllll raghead families currently in America (or at least all of Americas) because one of them has their way to commit treason! The police should go to West Jordan, UT to those fancy tract home the so-called Lebanese-born soldier's family lives and remove them and ship them back to Lebanon!

Okay back to the orginial topic, this was a very good article and enjoy reading this man's opinion. I do agree with MOST what he stated exception of a few flaws (no one's perfect):

1. Spain didn't chickened out and removed their troops from Iraq because of the 3/11 train attacks. They removed their troops based on principles. Spain had planned to removed their troops well before the 3/11 attacks...they waited until creepy Aznar has left office and a new leader was imposed. The spainards (80 percent) did not want to go to war in Iraq....they could see any legimiate reason to go to war in Iraq except to remove Saddam from power. Spain could not find any strong ties between Iraq to al-Qaida (who are the true corrupters). They have not found any conclusive evidence any terrorist activities in Iraq during Saddam's grips..... They as well as the UN, has not found any evidence of WMD (today, Blair finally admits we will never find WMD...finally admits he was wrong....why can't Bush accept this fact either?). Spain aren't cowards. Quite the opposite, Spain has declared sometimes last week or so, to ship more troops into Afghanistan, the true battleground of terrorism! Recently, Iraq has become an magnet for terrorist groups....they weren't their before we stuffed our nose in Iraq....they are now! Just like taking a stick and whacking the sides of a termite mounds...soon the termites were distracted and left their home to attack the invaders.....

Yes I can name one Muslim nation that is successfully democractized..a small country called UAE or United Arab Emirates... Other Muslim nations should follow their friends of UAE before its too late to save themselves..

No further complaints.....

Greenpasture, Spain chickened out plain and simple. Their involvement was mostly symbolic, as is their lack of involvement. They are a third-rate country and will have very little impact on the outcome regardless of who they side up with. Nevertheless, they are without excuse. If they would pay attention to their own history they would know about Arab aggression and where it got them in the past.

As for all your gushing about The United Arab Emirates, once again you don't know what you're talking about. The UAE is NOT a democracy. It is a federation of seven emirates. An emirate is a nation or territory RULED by an emir. There is no suffrage in the UAE. Of all the nations in the world they score near the bottom when it comes to civil and political liberties, coming in at 114 out of 140. You need to look at the facts and not claim to understand a country based upon what you saw on some travel show.

Actually, I hate to burst your bubbles but it wasn't very well said. Spain is very well aware of their own history...read your history book again. At one time Spain was under the wings of three cultures: Jews, Christians, and Muslims. However, the Christians of Spain were quite arrogant, especially during Reconquest (718 to 1492) and again in during Christopher Columbus. At times, Muslims did fight and claim (or reclaim) terroitories and strongholds in Spain but were weaken around 1200's and the Reconqest ended in 1492.... Again, the Spainards fought Morocco (an Muslim nation) during the Spanish Civil War in 1936-1939 under the dictatorship of Franco. But Morocco was later handed back to its people (what a fool Franco was!), in 1958 and they claimed independence.

I know UAE is not an democratic nation....it was an example of a nation which have similar characteristics like democracy...same rights, liberties, etc as democracy.... UAE is an CONSTITIONAL federation made of seven emirates (similar to states). UAE even have their own World Trade Center....

Oh that's right, I forgot. It's those arrogant Christians – everything is always their fault.

You're missing the entire point. They do NOT have same rights, liberties, etc as democracy. So they're a constitutional federation. North Korea has a constitution, as does Iran and just about every other state. If a people are to be free they must have a Constitution that 1) says the right things and 2) is enforced.

Greenpasture, you're trying to think and you're obviously interested in things – which is what makes it worthwhile to respond to your remarks. Lately you've made a couple of comments that sounded fairly accurate and rational. Keep taking the time to think things through and stop letting the first flake you come across jump you to a conclusion. Don't take my word for it. Or anybody else's. Apply logic and the lessons of history. Especially before you vote. I want to believe there's hope for you.
