A young woman, Alecia Kitts, sitting outdoors with her mother in nearly empty bleachers at a grade school football game attended by less than 300 people was tasered and arrested for not wearing a mask.

Online video appears to confirm the nearest stranger was seated 12+ feet away.
Police now say she was arrested for trespassing.

I think 24 hr covid-19 media coverage has created paranoia in many weak minded people.
A few weeks ago I witnessed an 80+ yr old woman wearing a mask, walk up to a handsome young man standing alone and wearing a mask and proceeded to start yelling at him to stay
6 ft away from her.

Yes, it was at Wal-Mart, (LOL) but still it appears many have gone crazy from covid-19 worry.

And there is also a case where a group of people were singing hymns out side in a parking lot. Five of them were arrested. One of the singers walked over and hugged a friend. He was arrested for not social distancing. This is in a county with a couple hundred confirmed cases, but zero deaths, and zero hospitalizations. It happened in Moscow Idaho not Moscow Russia.

She was given the option to put on a mask or leave. She refused to cooperate and got belligerent with the officer. That will get you arrested no matter who you are. When she resisted arrest, she got tased. No punches thrown, no choking, no kneeling on necks.

I am not arguing that once she started resisting she got what she deserved as do most of the ones that they protest in the name of. Follow instructions or suffer the consequences.

That doesn't change the fact that my statement is true wether you want to admit it or not. Nor does it change the fact that in this country you shouldn't be arrested for not wearing a mask outside 15' from anybody else.

Shouldn't be required to wear a mask in that kinda of deal on public owned property. Private property the owner makes the rules.
Got a couple of posts above that come from minds that think like blm. The cop certainly needs to push away from the table a little sooner but he did a pretty good job in a tough situation. And he was just doing his job. The little b#$& was still running her mouth so she was just fine. Probably needed to be shocked again for general principals.

I agree. There are several points. Not wearing a mask in that situation shouldn't be a big deal, however, the officer was just doing his job, and he didn't arrest her for not wearing a mask, it was for her actions. I wonder why she chose to go the aggressive route? I couldn't hear anything she said. I wonder if she calmly tried to explain why she didn't have on a mask? And yes, if the races were reversed, the place would have been on fire and all over the news.

Putting the police officer in a bad situation is a black lives matter tactic . I agree with it shouldn't have been a issue. But there's a proper way to fight that fight. Screaming profanitys at a school event isn't it.

I can see both sides of the mask arrest issue.

I wonder what would happen if the people against mask stood up and starting protesting or rioting like the BLM or ANTIFA folks. What would be the outcome if the roles were reversed in the Taylor case and people took to the streets to protest the police being charged? I know there have been some small groups trying to protect businesses but what happens if it becomes groups as large as BLM. Things are going to get nasty if something isn't done pretty soon.

If that happened to me today, I would comply. We're a nation of laws, and you don't fight/refuse what an officer wants you to do. You want to hire a lawyer after the fact, and seek change, that's a different story.

I always have and always will support law enforcement. Many years ago, I got in an overblown ordeal over a US marshal wanting to search my saddle bags. He wanted very badly to pressure me in to a night stick to the head situation. Pushed about every button a man could have. I'll never forget that, but I won't hold his actions against all other law enforcement officers.

Bigfoot I had a similar run in with a city cop over a dove hunting location. He motioned me to come in from the field which I obliged and then about came unglued when I brought my unloaded shotgun with me.
He was screaming at me from three hundred or so yards away to leave the gun which of course I couldn't hear. Kind of senseless that he was going to run me off but wanted me to leave my gun.

Luckily a game warden was close by and also responded to the call. He asked for my license and then proceeded to tell the city cop in a very harsh way to leave me alone as I was perfectly legal to hunt where I was at and completely within the law to carry my weapon where ever I wanted to. The city cop had steam coming out of his ears after that so I just gave him a wink and returned to the field.
