What is the top dollar value you are seeing locally for 6-weight steers? Have an offer of $1200 a piece for my steers, I am going to ask $1250. That would be about $900 US. They range in weight from 550 to 650, roughly. There may be a handful that are closer to the 700 mark.

After selling, the best calf in that weight range might bring home $750 here.

1.30 would buy pretty much every one at the sales I've been to this week. A real nice set of preconditioned blacks weighing in the mid-6s brought 1.2975 at one sale I went to.

552-581 568 151.00-159.50 156.76
590-596 592 149.00-149.50 149.14 Fleshy
606-642 622 138.00-145.75 142.27
617-646 636 134.25-136.50 135.34 Calves
624 151.25 151.25 Value Added. Information from the okc market report

Sold a bunch near 2 weeks back, heifers mainly, but they were my smaller odd colours that I had left - Avg right around the 1200 @ 671

Picked up at the farm.... no trucking... no selling fees... seems like a pretty good deal to me.
1200c = 918.48 usa

Here in MN extreme top 650 lb blk strs 1.46
550 + 700 = 1250 div by 2 = 625
So going by your average of 625 lbs (with No Shrink from trucking) more like 600 lbs after trucking
625 lbs x 1.47 = 918.75 usa

Top quality 625 lb herefords would not net you $890 hd here in Mn
Ask 1250
Jump on 1225
Take 1200 if you have to... and you'll still be doing better than you would here.

Ask $1250c but I wouldn't pass up $1200c. It would be hard to find a barn anywhere to get more after fees.

Well I went for $1250 and he backed off, which is ok by me - too much of a Jew to leave too much on he table. Problem was I sold him heifer calves a year and a half ago, which are now fancy breds and he is in love with them, even though another guy has offered him a healthy price to try and initiate a divorce. Breds have to go before he can buy the steers, and grandkids are looking forward to calves on the ground. Bred buyer is supposed to phone back tonight, so maybe the price will get even more ridiculous. Thankful for overly emotional people in the cattle biz, makes seller's life so much easier.

On Western Video Thursday, front end weaned steers weighing 625lbs. or so were bringing $143/cwt. (a tick over $900/head gross) +/- coming out of Northern Nevada, Eastern Oregon and North Eastern California.

I saw a buyer put together a set of #1 and #1 1/2 steer and bull calves today in East Texas. When he got through, the calves average weighing 667 lbs and cost $123.93 to average $826.61 per head.

625 x 1.43 = 894 (a tick under 900/hd)
I mistyped, good catch.
