I have a friend in Bradenton near Tampa who lives on Manatee Bayou. Last I heard he said he will be offline for a while.

My aunt lives down near Englewood, she decided to leave for this one and went up to the panhandle. She stayed home for Ian expecting it to hit south near Ft Myers. She ended up right in the middle of it, if you put a pin in a map where Ian hit land it would cover her house. Somehow she had very little damage, but I think the experience of sitting all night in the dark through a Cat 5 hurricane by herself isn't something she ever wants to do again.

It's strange. Sometimes two of these giant tornados hook up and twist together. One of these was on radar throwing debris 7000' into the air. It was a monster, headed right for a little settlement of 300 people. And on radar, just before it hit before our eyes it lifted and vanished.

What vanished? The tornado or the houses?
